A Bit More About Me

I identify as a white, cisgendered, queer woman from Ontario. I originally planned to work in theatre, and I still have a deep love for the arts. As I was studying theatre and trying to understand different characters’ choices through an empathetic lens, I realized how much I had a desire to do this work with real people going through real life experiences. I also realised how much passion I have for supporting people feeling safe in their own bodies. This discovery led me to become a certified doula, where I supported over 100 people through giving birth, the postpartum period, or the abortion process. Wanting to further explore these newfound skills of support, I enrolled in the Assaulted Women and Children's Counselling and Advocacy program at George Brown College. This prepared me for frontline counselling through a trauma-informed, feminist, anti-racist framework. I worked at various crisis centres, hotlines, shelters and supportive housing units in Toronto. This experience taught me how to be fully present with someone even when they are in a complete crisis, how to help them feel more grounded, and listen to their experiences with pure compassion and kindness. These are skills I am so grateful to have gained, and I am thrilled to now bring them into psychotherapy. I just finished my course work at Yorkville University’s Masters in Counselling Arts program. While currently at the beginning of my career as a psychotherapist, I plan to specialize in sexual health and work from a somatic approach. That said, right now I am eager to work with all people regardless of their struggles, and I plan to do so through a place of kindness, pure compassion, and a warm sense of humour. You deserve to feel a sense of peace and safety in your body, and I am honoured to support you in finding this.
